Doors, Arches, and the Art of Seeing the World Differently
Nov 14, 2025
Before we left for Morocco and during the trip, I kept hearing that song in my head:
“You may say I am a dreamer, but I am not the only one.” by John Lennon. Such a powerful song.
I did not fully understand why until I was standing in the middle of a Moroccan market, surrounded by sound, colour, and rhythm. There were people laughing, bartering, sharing, living. It hit me that dreamers exist everywhere. They live in the travellers seeking connection, in the artisans painting doors, in the women carrying water up winding hills, and in the souls who keep believing in something better.
Travel opens the heart. It expands the mind. It changes the way we see not only the world, but ourselves.
The Journey of a Lifetime
Joe and I just returned from the trip of a lifetime, Morocco. Over ten unforgettable days, we travelled more than 2,200 kilometres across this breathtaking country. We journeyed from the Atlantic coast to the Atlas Mountains, through ancient medinas, timeless deserts, and modern cities. We used the same travel company we took to Italy last year; exoticca travel. We touched down in Casablanca, wandered through modern Rabat, fell in love with the Blue City of Chefchaouen, and felt the spiritual heartbeat of Fez. We crossed the Atlas Mountains to Midelt and Erfoud, entered the sweeping desert of Erg Chebbi, passed through the dramatic Gorges of Todra, followed the Route of the Kasbahs, explored the fortress of Ait Ben Haddou in Ouarzazate, and finished our journey in the vibrant soul of Marrakech.
Morocco is a land of harmony and contrast. It is a place where ancient call to prayer meets modern rhythm. The country is remarkably open and culturally rich. It is home to multiple religions and influenced by Arab, Berber, French, Jewish, and African cultures. All of these blend together into one beautiful and layered tapestry.
The country is also incredibly safe, welcoming, and visually mesmerizing. We moved from ocean views to mountain peaks, from shimmering mirages to expanding skylines, from silence in the desert to song in the souks. We saw snake charmers, mountain goats, monkeys, and my favourite, camels.
We even visited Morocco’s version of Hollywood where films like Indiana Jones and Gladiator were shot. I could not help but marvel at how ancient landscapes continue to inspire global stories.
Women, Resilience, and the Power of Compassion
Beyond the beauty, there were moments that deeply moved me, especially in the smaller villages. Many of the women I saw did not smile. Their eyes reflected fatigue, quiet strength, and the weight of unspoken endurance. Their bodies were bent from lifting, carrying, and providing. Their steps were steady and strong.
It made my heart ache. Not out of pity, but out of empathy. It reminded me of the invisible work that women around the world carry, often without recognition or rest.
I wanted to remind them of their power. Their worth. Their light.
Before leaving Canada, I had stacked my wrists with bracelets infused with intention and love. I set a quiet prayer that whoever was meant to receive one would cross my path.
In the souks of Marrakech, a little girl caught my eye. She smiled shyly. I slipped off a bracelet that said Hugs and Love, made with rose quartz for compassion and heart expansion, and placed it in her hand. Her entire face lit up.
Later, on our last day, we stopped at a Burger King before heading home. One of the women working there admired my bracelets. I took two off and offered it to her. She hugged me tightly, eyes shimmering with gratitude, and held the bracelet like it was something sacred.
Those moments reminded me that connection does not require words. Often, it is simply energy meeting energy. A gesture of love. An act of generosity. A recognition of another soul.
This is the essence of High Vibe Living. It is the practice of noticing people. Honouring energy. Choosing kindness as a way of life.

Lessons in Culture and Contrast
Travel introduces you to contrast. To beauty and discomfort. To the places where differences become teachers.
We spoke often with our guides and fellow travellers about culture, equality, and the state of the world. I found it fascinating to see how people from different countries experience freedom, privilege, and faith.
There were moments when we talked about how North America promotes the idea of the great dream while often living in excess and disconnection. Meanwhile, many of the people we met in Morocco were deeply rooted in simplicity. They value family, community, and the land.
We also talked about the shift that happened when women entered the workforce and convenience food became the norm. What was meant to help families balance more responsibilities has led to challenges with food quality and wellness. In Morocco, many women still cook by hand each day. Meals are made from scratch and seasoned with gratitude. It is slower, but it is intentional.
The trip reminded me that progress and peace are not the same thing. Sometimes the most evolved societies are the ones most connected to their roots.
Architecture, Doors, Arches, and the Art of Looking Closer
As a designer, I am endlessly inspired by architecture, and Morocco is a dreamscape of design.
The doors and arches captivated me. Hand carved cedar. Aged brass. Zellige mosaic tile. Tadelakt plaster glowing in the sun. Curves that hold history and shadow. Every building felt alive, filled with artistry, meaning, and soul.
Last year in Italy, my entire camera roll was arches and doors. I did not fully understand why I was so drawn to them until Morocco. They are thresholds. They are symbols of transition. They are invitations to something new.
The story behind Chefchaouen moved me deeply. The women are the ones who paint the walls, brushing on the famous blue colour that reaches only as high as they can stretch. It is devotion made visible.
Every doorway felt like a possibility. Every arch felt like a breath. Morocco added its own chapter to my collection of doorways of the world. I know these textures, colours, and patterns will find their way into future Liberty Interior Design projects. Design, like travel, is energy you can see.
Coming soon I will be sharing Doors and Arches Morocco Edition. It is a visual love letter to the craftsmanship, soul, and stories behind the architecture that inspires me most.

The Magic of the Desert
Nothing compared to the Sahara.
Our overnight stay in the desert was one of the most surreal and spiritual experiences of my life. We rode camels through golden dunes. We watched the sunset paint the sand with shades of copper and rose. We spent the night under a blanket of stars so bright it felt unreal.
The next morning, we climbed a dune before sunrise. The world was silent. Still. Infinite. The sand was cool beneath our feet. Our guide told us it has not rained in that part of the desert for more than forty years. The stillness felt sacred.
It was a moment where time stopped and everything made sense.

Design, Energy, and the High Vibe Life
Travel is both education and activation. It is how I recharge my creativity and reconnect with what truly matters.
As a designer, I take inspiration from structure, colour, and form. As a mentor and healer, I take inspiration from people, energy, and story. Both remind me that beauty is a frequency. It is something you feel.
Morocco reminded me that High Vibe Living is not about perfection. It is about awareness, compassion, and alignment. It is about staying open to life, connecting to the land, and receiving every moment as a message.
So yes, I am a dreamer. And now I know I am not the only one. Dreamers create bridges, between cultures, between hearts, and between what is and what is possible.
If you are thinking about visiting Morocco, I cannot recommend it enough. We travelled with Exoticca Holidays and the experience was seamless. I even have a discount code if you want to begin your own journey.
